Chairman Thomas Beauty participated in Washington, D.C. National Indian Health Board meeting

2015-09-24 16.14.18Composed of 20 tribal leaders from across the country, this small group gathered in Washington on September 21-25 under the auspices of the National Indian Health Board.

The Tribal Leaders Diabetes Committee (TLDC) has desired and expressed goals to address diabetes that is prevalent in the leaders’ specific regions across America.

The SDPI (Special Diabetes Program for Indians) makes special funding for diabetes prevention programs in various communities in Indian country.

The September national meeting was held to make recommendations for strategic planning, to establish mission statements by the committee and integrate these into the outreach programs for their own specific communities.

Chairman Beauty is Phoenix Area Primary Representative for the southwest region for TLDC.
