The Lion Fire continues to benefit forest health and fuels reduction.  Yesterday firefighters conducted burnout operations along the 47D road.  A few spot fires occurred within the boundary of the fire but were worked on by firefighters.  Today’s plan include conducting interior burnout opeartions and to monitor the fire.  No new ignitions will be conducted as firefighters anticipate precipitation over the fire.

The following roads are closed to the public: Y47, 47F and 49.   The main Y40 road will remain open but drivers are advised to drive slow as limited visibility will occur due to the smoke.  Surrounding communities will continue to be impacted by smoke.  For more information, you can call (928) 205-5662.
