WMAT Fair & Rodeo Announces 92nd Annual Parade Grand Marshals.

WHITERIVER, AZ – The White Mountain Apache Tribe Fair & Rodeo Office is proud to announce the 92nd  Annual Fair & Rodeo Parade Grand Marshals, the Alchesay Falcons Boys Basketball Team.

 

During the 2016-2017 AIA basketball season, the Falcon boys stimulated a sense of pride and enthusiasm in the White Mountain Apache tribal community, advancing through the state playoffs to the championship game. The Falcons ended their season as the 2017 AIA State Boys Basketball Runners-Up.

 

“The annual Fair & Rodeo is about bringing our community together and celebrating who we are as Apache people. This year the Executive Office of Chairman Ronnie Lupe selected the Falcon Boys, as a reflection of the team bringing our community together and celebrating our Apache youth. As we prepare to for the event reflecting on our Apache history, culture and pride, the Chairman’s selection embodies our hope for the future while celebrating our Apache history and legacy as a people,” said Harrisen DeClay, Assistant Fair & Rodeo Manager.

 

The 92nd Annual WMAT Fair & Rodeo Parade will take place September 2 in Whiteriver, AZ.

 

The Fair & Rodeo Office is accepting applications and registration for this year’s parade. Applications are available at the Fair & Rodeo Office or online at www.wmatfair.com. Registrations must be returned to the Fair & Rodeo Office by Tuesday, August 29 at 5 p.m., no exceptions permitted.

 

Categories for the event include: Tribal Department / Program, Family Float, Dance Group, Musical Entry, Marching Unit, Royalty, Schools & Youth Programs, Tribal Enterprises / Outside Organizations and Political / Campaign entries.
